One of the things about living overseas is that some of the American ‘Holidays’ kind of slip by without realizing it. So, really, is it Superbowl Sunday? If it is, who is playing? Does anyone know if you can watch it online anywhere (for the commercials, of course)?

Yes it is! New Orleans Saints vs. Indianapolis Colts at 6 PM ET.
ARD (Das Erste) is showing it. Commenting will be in German.
You can also order it online from NFL.com Game Pass (https://gamepass.nfl.com/nflgp/secure/registerform). Commenting of course in English. But it’s expensive and they will NOT show the commercials… you just get a blank screen telling you the game will resume soon. Too bad, because the commercials & half-time show are really the highlights of the event!
Definitely a “Holiday” that slips by here in Krautland. Plus, it’s really not possible to enjoy any Superbowl junk food at midnight on Sunday night.

I think they’re playing the game in Miami, too, because I saw a headline on my CNN feed about measures to reduce teen prostitution there for the occasion of the Superbowl.
Yay.
