I often read a few mom-blogs from friends or friends of friends, and they sometimes have wonderful words of wisdom abut kids, being a mom, etc. I don’t know if I will ever reveal such wisdom about having a baby. However, I have learned two important lessons in the one full month of being a mom:
1 - do not eat garbanzo bean soup while breast feeding unless you enjoy being up until the god awful hours of the night with an unhappy and flatulent baby.
2 - no matter how bad your ______ (insert name of whatever body parts are aching from repeatedly moving the blob around) are aching, DO NOT use tiger balm unless, again, you enjoy being up all night with an unhappy, but less flatulent than in point 1, baby. This point has reminded me to return, slowly, to doing the yoga practice I developed to help stabilize and strengthen my shoulders.
I seem to now have baby-induced jet lag due to the lessons learned above. At the moment, everyone int he apartment is sleeping soundly, and my body seems to be wondering why there is no screaming baby in my arms.
I used my quiet time to add virtual furniture to my little model of the new apartment (thanks for the link to Google SketchUp Liz). it will be s nice to have a 30 square meter living room!! Just two more weeks until we move in. We can’t wait.
